It depends on the situation. Say I had a child with special needs, then, I'd opt to do what's best for my child. If I had an extremely supportive husband, who appreciated the fact that a housewife works hard everyday, then I'd consider being a stay at home wife. On the other hand, if I had the type of husband who felt like he worked outside the home and therefore I had to do as I was told, then it would definitely be a career for me.

to be quite honest i am in college which will give me a career should i want one. but most of all i want to be a wife and mother. i want a family to love and raise. a housewife is the most rewarding career in my opinion. yes a career may give mor independence in some people's eyes but being a housewife who's husband supports her and loves her is much more rewarding. so i would rather be a housewife who is supported by her husband. i cannot wait to marry and have kids and little grandchildren.

I'd rather have a career than a Job which is what I have, and I would rather have a husband who made enough money so that I could have a choice in whether or not I have to work. Chances are I would still choose to work just because I am to independant for my own good.

I'd rather be a housewife and focus on raising my family, however in todays world it's almost impossible to live a middle class lifestyle without both people working.

Ah! Mr. Sandstorm -- I knew it would be you asking this question. I had no career and was JUST a housewife to a husband that only provided two things to me in 24 years. He was a pay check and a sperm donor and the master of intimidation who abused me physically, mentally etc. I would never allow that to happen again!!!

A housewife who supports her husband with kind and encouraging words, who never complains, who does everything to make him feel like a king in his own castle.
Now you can see support doesn't always mean money. It means to take care of and that's how I take care of him while he's earning money for the family.

Career definitely....stick to my independence for sure and if I really have to be a house wife, I would still have a small home business. In this world nothing is permanent and guaranteed, who knows something may happen along the way and I would get ended being single and have to self sufficient on my own.

At the moment I would rather have a career. When we decide to start having children I would like to be able to stay home with them. My husband already works from home, so we would all be there together.

Definitely a housewife - the family is what matters in the long run. As long as you're married to a responsible man and you work on your marriage - meeting his needs it's not bad at all to be dependent on a man. But it's important to choose him carefully!

To tell the truth I kinda wanna be a mom at like 19. I don't know why, I just do. But I want the father of my baby to marry me at least a year later. I really just want to be a writer. I really wanna take care of my kids and not send them off to day care or have a nanny. Plus it's enough work having to have a job, do chores at home and take care of kids. I would go insane. Too much pressure and all that.
