its really simple once you get the hang of it. You have to distribute since we are trying to solve for f:

-3(2-f)=2(f-4)
multiply the left side by -3 and the right by 2. you chose those numbers because thats whats in front of the parenthases and you get:
-6+3f=2f-8
then you need to isolate the variable the variable is 3f on the left side so add 6 to both sides. by adding 6 you cancel out the negative 6 like this:

-6+6+3f=2f-8+6
after you do that you get:

3f=2f-2
then you need all the variables on on side do bring the 2f to the left since its positive on the right when you shift it it becomes a negative:

3f-2f=-2

Then you do basic subtraction and get:

f=-2

hope this was helpful :)

First you need to distribute the -3 to the 2 and -f, and the 2 to the f and -4.

You get: -6 + 3f = 2f - 8

Now you need to get all your variables to one side, and your numbers to another.

Subtract 2f from both sides.
You get : -6 + 3f - 2f = 2f - 8 - 2f
f - 6 = -8

Add 6 to both sides.
You get: f - 6 + 6 = -8 + 6
f = -2

f = -2 is your final answer.

If you're trying to find f, f = -2
-3(2-f) = 2(f-4)
-6+3f = 2f-8
3f = 2f - 2
f = -2

it incredibly is a simultaneous equation problem. permit x: grownup, y: toddlers x+y=a hundred (a million) 50x+30y=3180 (2) might desire to remedy the above 2 equations. Rearranging the 1st one: x=a hundred-y (3) changing equation (3) in (2): 50(a hundred-y)+30y=3180 (4) Simplifying (4) supplies: 5000-50y+30y=3180 and it incredibly is comparable to -20y=-1820 y=-1820/-20=ninety one changing y in (3) supplies x=a hundred-ninety one=9 subsequently, no. of grownup is 9 and no. of toddlers is ninety one.

im assuming we are trying to solve for "f".

first u need to distribute the "-3" and the "2" into their respective parenthesis.
(-3x2)-(-3xf) = (2xf)-(2x4)
so you get:
-6+3f=2f-8

(you get +3f. not -3f. this is because the double negatives cancel themselves out and makes a positive.)

now you need to get the "f"s on one side of the equation and the numbers on the other side.
i am going to first subtract "2f" from both sides so there are no more "f"s on the right side of the equation.

-6+f = -8

now i am going to add "6" to both sides so that there are no more numbers on the left side of the equation.

f = -2

done.

-3(2 - f) = 2(f - 4)

-6 + 3f = 2f - 8

3f = 2f - 2

3f - 2f = 2

f = -2
