I'd quite like to feel motivated and do lots of awesome things with my time.
I'd also like to get the non-awesome but obligatory things done and out of the way quickly and with self discipline.

Instead I procrastinate and waste my life.

Even though I'd like to change this, when I'm in the moment, I never seem able to stop wasting time or get out of bed to actually do something worthwhile, when it feels like such hard work.

How do you change your attitude and lifestyle?

I can't recall who said " procrastination is the thief of time" but he was pretty close!

Are you clinically depressed? You wouldn't know it if you were but your partner & friends will.

As to seizing the moment, there's nothing like advancing age to encourage that!

This may sound odd to you, but join your local gym. Try it!

Is there anything you like doing for the sake of doing it, without the thought of a reward in mind. Doing it is the reward. I'm sure if your favorite supermodel showed at your door, you'd be more likely to get from bed to shower to front door as quickly as you ever have.

The things you like doing just for the sake of doing them are thier own motivation (for me at least). Other stuff is easy to screw around on and not get done. try to find away to use the things you really like to do to advance.

I don't think you're a lazy git, just unmotivated. If you can set yourself a daily task you would enjoy such as fixing a watch or clock for example, you might find that you spring out of your lethargy quite quickly. Don't write yourself off as a loser - it's as bad as writing off other people. Go for it.

By applying your will power and only changing slowly - dont change habits dramatically, otherwise you'll force yourself to fall back into your old habits.

Its all about changing personal preferences, changing attitudes and a slow transition to a new way of doing things

Ha ha ha, are you my twin brother? I waste away as well. The bed holds me in like a magnet. I think about enormous things and yet it passes by like smoke. Methinks our problem is linked to imagination rather than to ambition.

My lazy git always wins.

Go volunteer at a food bank, and see if that doesn't change your life to see people taking food that no one else wants just so they can have something to eat and not starve. Food that's not fresh, but not yet ready for the rubbish bin. If that doesn't humble you nothing will. Enjoy.

I find if I do things the moment they come up, I don't have time to make excuses. Otherwise I'm a champ at procrastination.

Make a decision, make a schedule and stick to it no matter what. Set deadlines and stick by them. Force yourself with your main focus and intention. With practice it will become commonplace, the procrastination will be gone.

Well, you have to find a balance of things you don't like to do with things you do like to do. Work hard and at the same time reward yourself by playing hard - go to movies, parties, concerts, etc.

Work to earn your play. Play to inspire your work. It becomes a cycle.
