well if your parents are gone... and if
you're an only child or can't get along with family members
And have no friends.
And if you get old.... you might end up in old folk home alone
and die and someone has to bury you.
That is a sad sad sad life.

IMO - In the process of discovery of who we are, gays have been marginalised and alienated for so long they have felt separation from mainstream community. They long to have a feeling of belonging and companionship. The reality is quite different we only need to find comfort within ourselves and we will never be scared of being alone.

Humans are very social creatures. We tend to draw off of others' strength. I think that homosexuals fear being alone the most because they are discriminated against in modern society. We like having someone there with us to help us feel better about ourselves.

It's just not a comforting thought for anyone to live alone, spend most of their time without the company of others, never find intimate/romantic love, and die alone. Sounds scary to me. Unfortunately it happens all the time.

The short of it is that God created earth then man to procreate and keep each other company. He created us with that natural instinct to be social with others and not to want to be alone, however I find that so many are so awful in the world with their two and five faces that at times I appreciate my privacy and solitude.

dunno, but once you've found love I find being alone is very tough... I haven't felt that my life is devoid of meaning or significance, but I really enjoy having a partner to spend time with... It makes me feel like I'm known and understaood... I get this from friends as well... it's important to me, but not everyone

Everyone fears being alone, whether your gay or straight. Everyone works hard for their happiness...we work to got money to spend on our "dream house" our future career and the children that we plan to have. Everyone wants someone to share their lives with, to come home to, to share dinner with, to fall asleep in their arms, wake up every morning to the warm breath on the back of your neck, to sit and watch your kids grow. Everyone wants to love someone and have someone who will love them back.
