These are both great brands. These days you must look closely at the motherboard. I've heard some people have trouble getting new builds to boot as the BIOS won't allow them to set the voltage on the RAM high enough to boot. I've noticed most of the PC800 sticks running at a latency of 4 must have a voltage of 2.0 or more. And I saw an article on Extremetech building a box with an Evga 680i mobo that they used Corsair Dominator with an even faster speed than PC800 which is what the motherboard called for. But they were advised by Evga to use the fast RAM. So this is a tough decision. Go to http://www.newegg.com and read reviews of the memory you are buying and the motherboard that you want to use. They may have good pointers. Enjoy!

Both are good and reliable brands. Both are popular among gaming and PC hardware enthusiasts. Corsair just seems to be better on the marketing aspect.
