It was a close race. Al Gore lost. We need one universal way of voting in this country. I wish we could have elections on the weekend! (Too bad only 40% of us vote, anyway.) It may improve our voter participitation. (without any career-politicians and PORK POLITICIANS mucking things up for us!!)

Do you think it strange that the libs claim so much voter fraud in 200 and 2004, but not in 2006 when they won.....hmm, seems there is only voter fraud if the other party wins.

the rationalization all of us is making a large deal about that's because the DEMS can't WIN NOVEMBER without both of those STATES. Why can't any of you adult males comprehend this. What befell in 2000 grow to be that Florida grow to be no longer totally counted and subsequently, Bush were given the presidency. can we want this to ensue back. in case you inspect polls, 70% of democratic human beings in those states are putting forward that they are going to vote for John McCain if Obama is the nominee

If it was the other way around and Gore got the electoral, would Dems complain then?

Every body's Ox gets gored at one time or another. I notice no one has tried to change the system in 8 years. Perhaps the politicians know it will work their way some time. If it was all by popular vote, and Bush one by 1 vote, there would be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

It's the way it is.

It is rather annoying!
By constantly whining that the 2000 election was fatally flawed (as with all of them!) it does not change the past! Bush is the president period. Saying that it was rigged... stolen... etc does not make it fact!
Colbert made a great comment in his normal tongue-in-cheeky way by saying to a guest who brought up the 2000 election..."Don't you people ever get tired of riding that horse?!". I fell out laughing because that is exactly how I feel!

I answered a question here on Y! which was "who is the current US President?". I responded matter of factly by stating that George W. Bush is our current and 43rd president and someone actually gave me a "thumbs-down"!

How can that be? It IS A FACT!
*sheesh*!
As much as you may disagree with how it came about does not make it any less true or real!
Instead of actively making progress in our failed voting procedures they continuously gripe about this!

Another one that I hate to see is the bumper sticker that says "Not my president!". Oh really? So since when did this person in the car in front of me become their own independent nation?

Sorry! He IS your president!

Friggin vote! Change the process and become part of the SOLUTION instead of RHETORIC!

Because they need someone to blame, and politicians are the easiest target. It doesnt matter anymore, Al Gore and G.W. are the same man wearing a different coat. Get past it and work on making change for yourself instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you.

First your question is to general, It should have read "Why oh Why are Dem's and Liberals still.... Rep won
and by the way to the first guy that answered Bush wasn't the first to win that way Kennedy VS Nixon in 1960 was the same set up.

Two simple little words.

Voter Fraud.

When you hand over those who were responsible for what happened in Ohio and Florida, we'll talk.

Until then, deal with the heat. We're not going away until the cheaters are in jail and the lesson is learned.

Votes matter. Don't screw around with them!

People are still bothered by 2000 because there's a lot of evidence of election fraud. If we just "put it behind us" then IF fraud occured, they got away with it.
And you're right, we do need some major election reform.

Because they can, and because they feel disenfranchised. If you feel you got cheated and don't complain about it, then it's partially your fault. In this age of chads and electronic voting machines that leave no paper trails, I think we will have more complaints rather than less. A government that is not accountable for it's actions does not stay in power for long.
