The south rim of the Grand Canyon will be beautiful and a wonderful experience for the grandchildren. As far as child friendly things to do in Las Vegas - it's really limited. It would be nice to spend a day or two there so the kids can see the lights and maybe do some shopping but other than that the only things to do is go to Circus Circus and let me ride the carvinal rides - but you can do that anywhere. I recommend getting a travel book from AAA if you're a member or visit the local library activities and sights to see - have fun!
