My periods are very irregular. I haven't had a period since Feb 2007 and it is almost the end of April now. I was just prescribed the pill yesterday because of some other medications I'm on would cause a baby a lot of harm if I happen to get pregnant. Anyways, does anybody have any input on what would happen to me if I started taking the pill now before my period starts, or just wait?

You can go ahead and start the pill whenever... they will override, and probably correct, whatever your hormone level is and your body will adjust. I say this especially since you haven't had a period... because you may be waiting for a while for it to start.

The pill will hopefully help regulate your hormones and get your period back in order. If you still haven't started by the time you finish this pack and are ready to take the first pill of the second pack, call your doctor and ask for instructions. He or she may want you to come back in for testing before you continue.

Good luck and best wishes!

I would recommend talking to your dr first before starting this. The reason that they usually want the lady to start after her period is because it makes it easier for the body to adjust to being on it. If one starts it too soon it can mess up the cycle.
