The first song I taught myself to play on the guitar was Lightning Crashes by Live. It's an easy song to learn. If you feel like you're good enough...try Metallica, cuz some of their songs are a little difficult to master.

What you like. But if you want to learn and be really good then get ahold of some old Van Halen , Lindsey Buckingham and Queen's Ryche. They will teach you to reach beyond your comfort zone. But mostly learn what you enjoy.

I started playing when Metallica was still a good band (before the black album) and most of their songs were fun to learn. (and they sound good on electric or accoustic.)
