Are you referring to your period? Pushing to poop also pushes on the uterus, so you're going to expel more blood than if it just seeps out.

If this is in reference to bleeding more during your period, then I would say it is caused from the strain you put on your body when defecating. It raises your blood pressure if you are straining much. Then I would say the menstrual flow could be larger. I would suggest getting a blood pressure test or at least go to the Doctor.

If you have hemorrhoids, this is caused from strain also and either condition probably means you should see a Doctor. Many people that have a fatal heart attack have one while straining on the toilet possibly from the raise in blood pressure.
