He may be a "doof", but he was nice enough to loan you his guitar. You should be grateful enough to restring it for him. It won't cost you anything and it's good karma for you.

Call him on the phone and laugh at him as you TELL him he is a doof. Tell him to bring over some beer and we'll re-string it together and drink and ham it up.

Moochie,
Be nice, he is your friend even though he is a "doof" (lol)
And he did lend it to you, re-string it for him.
You know what ? Maybe, he isn't a "doof" maybe he
wanted to see if you'd notice and just fix it for him !
Hugs,
Fran

I would restring it. That would be gracious, and be a sign of gratitude. But remember to remind him what he did so he doesnt do it again.

I'd put in a new set of strings and wind them on the right way--after all he did lend it to me.

I would leave it alone and laugh at him. But that's just me. You never know, he might have had a reason for doing it

Personally, I'd just leave it alone. But I would let him know how to do it properly to spare him future embarassment.
