Putting chapstick on is like putting candle wax on your lips, you need a MEDICATED lip balm. Also, putting lip gloss on all the time dries out your lips.

Don;t use too much. Apply a coat of Chapstick or Vaseline over your lips before you put lipgloss (so it will prevent from getting chapped).

Try rubbing a soft toothbrush over your lips to get rid of some of the dead skin, then apply an intense lip balm. Some people use vaseline, but it contains petroleum, which can sometimes have an adverse effect and cause the skin to dry out more. I suggest using Soft Lips, because it moisturizes really well but isn't super-thick.

1 week is well enough to heal those lips! first you need to get rid of the dead skins on your lips. Now unless they are really cracked and bleeding, use these tips : use an old toothbrush with some balm or vaseline and gently brush your lips with it. Or you can use an electric toothbrush to do so. Use tons and tons of lip balm (am saying the real balms, not gloss), don't lick your lips as saliva dry them, don't use any lipstick or gloss until D day

I like Aveeno lip moisturizer with SPF. Avoid flavored lip glosses. They are just a novelty and aren't very moisturizing. The flavored ones also encourage you to lick your lips often which can dry them out. I've also found that carmex and burt's bees are very drying as well. It just depends on how your body responds to the product. Good luck!

First you need to brush your lips with the toothbrush to get the dry skin off and then you need to apply the chapstick. The chapstick won't work unless you get the dry skin off first.

Try Rosebud Salve. You can get it at Sephora for $6.50. You can also try the Satin Lip Set by Mary Kay. It includes a lip mask that exfoliates the lips and a lip balm that softens and protects. You can check it out and order it at

Try a natural ingredients lip balm like Burt's Bees. Some people's lips are sensitive to the artificial stuff.

Every night before you go to bed put either Carmex or Vaseline on your lips. While you sleep the Carmex/Vaseline will work its magic and you will wake up with healthier, softer lips. Good luck!
