At my school they require us to wear underwear and I find that to be inconvenient.
Thank you and good day.

Some rules are not necessary, but others are.
At my school you are allowed to wear the shortest mini-skirt you own, but you aren't allowed to wear ripped jeans. I don't follow that rule. haha. We also get a hall pass with 15 individual squares, you may leave the class if you have a teacher fill out the square. Yeah I guess no harm done there, but listen to this: the hall pass is for 9 weeks && once your squares are gone, they are gone until the next 9 weeks. I also leave the class if I run out of squares because NO one tells me when I can & cannot go to the bathroom. That's just something you can't handle. Um, yeah i wrote a lot but those are only 2 rules at our school I hate. There are many more. && as the quote goes, "Rules were meant to be broken."

I'm graduated now, but when I was at school there were so many stupid rules.
Basically the same with the student IDs, except they only enforced the rule for the first week or so. Then, they lost because no students wore them after the first week, so they just let it go.
You also can't wear flip flops.
When the morning bell rang, you had to be IN the class. After the bell, the teachers had to lock all doors and not let you in until you went and got a detention slip. It doesn't MATTER if there was traffic due to a thunderstorm. They apparently didn't care if you killed yourself on the way to school.
If you didn't have your assignment book (which had hallpass pages in there), you were craped out of luck with going to the bathroom or something like that.
You couldn't leave school to go get lunch.
You could have your cellphone, but it had to be turned off. Even if the teacher hears it viberate, it's gone. And your parents have to come pick it up.
And if there is a pep rally, or something else like that - if one person gets in a fight - the WHOLE school loses that privelege.
On senior week, there was a day for seniors wearing pajamas.. They could only wear them for an hour and a half during school, and that was while you were in the auditorium watching the movie. If you were caught wearing your pajamas during the day, you would be sent home.
You also weren't allowed on the internet except for studying.
The good thing is, senior year - most of us broke those rules. If we were tardy before the morning bell, we would just leave and come back second period.
Most of the senior teachers were laid back on senior students. They wouldn't get them in trouble, so we all left to go get lunch.. We talked on our cellphones during the longest period (5th).. And they let us walk out of class to go to the bathroom. Didn't matter if you didn't have your book. We also could get on the computer and do things like myspace and all of that.

Your not alone. Here are a few dumb rules my school has:
1. No shirts that have straps smaller than two of your fingers.
2. No carrying books around in a bag. They are scared you'll use it as a weapon.
3. If you don't bring your agenda 3 times you get detention.
4. No Personal signs of affection (hugging/kissing/etc.)
And many more that I cannot think of at the moment

ID is to just make a reason to be responsble by remembering, when you forget it they punish you. It is unfair though, for such a small incident, they do act like you cursed a teacher out, when you only forget your name tag. Tell ur parents and get them to tell the principal they are not happy that they are starving their child. We had dull rules too, I am out of school but it was really unfair. I can't remember all of them but they come up with little things to get us in trouble and it makes them happy for some reason

those rules are so stupid, what if your gonna throw up do they make you wait till class is over or something? when i was in middle school the dumbest rule was that you couldn't talk in the halls or something even during passing time. but im in high school and and the school im in has like no rules, i have seen kids come to school half dressed and in slippers and still not a word was said to them. then during the pep rally a stink bomb was set off and no on one got in trouble where as in middle school us 8th graders set of a stink bomb and they held all the 8th graders in the auditorium till they found out who did it...

Back when I was in HS I switched schools my senior year...and they had the dumbest rule....you had to stay seated in the lunch room at all times and could not get up until the bell rang...if you did stand up someone was hollering at you to sit down...I found it ridiculous after coming from a school that you could leave campus and go to McDonalds if you wanted to...besides walk around and even go to the bathroom ...needless to say my senior year sucked..
