I have one 512MB DDR2 PC4200 on my D945GNT Motherboard (Intel), can I add different brand (generic) but same specs memory, is it ok?............How about if I add different specs, say PC533, in other words, could a mixed specs memory functions well, or if not what will be the problem?............. thanks for the answers.........(sorry for my english)

yes, you can do that. The machine will run all of them at the slowest speed though. And cheap RAM is always a risk...

No authentic way. the only selection the following is to improve the motherboard, if you're actually not a gamer there are dissimilar equipment, M/board, CP YUhheat sinkand fan less than £70 uk. upload 4 Gb ram and homestead windows 7 you've a great place of work device

No you don't want to start plugging different types of memory (PC on a DDR2 board) in as it will not work. If it does even boot, it will run at the slower memory's native speed so you wouldn't be gaining anything.

Yes you can throw a generic stick in next to the factory installed... so long as it works for your board. Read the documentation from the manufacturer to get the exact specs of the memory to install.

Only if its not running in dual channel mode, timing and specs can cause Windows to crash.

Mixing them in single channel setup works most of the time
