I think my dad cancelled the DSL but I'm not sure...the computer is slower and things are taking longer to download. It's slower not necessarily dial up slower but it's not as fast as it was.

Go into the control panel and look under the network connections. Once you double click on this it should tell ya what you have.

If you have dialup your computer will be plugged into a modem, that is generally built into the computer. It will plug directly into the telephone jack in the wall. If you have DSL the DSL modem will be plugged into the wall and the computer will be plugged into the DSL modem via USB or an ethernet port.

I am pretty sure you are using dail up. then again you will hear dail up starting up and dsl you will just go right on. just hope he did not cancel the dsl cause dail up faded out with payphones.

the best way to tell is. does your phone line get blocked when you go to use your computer. and people can't call you. if it does you got dial up. if it doesn't you still got dsl.........

Can you use your phone for incoming or outgoing calls when you are on the computer - if not, you have dial-up.
