If the plant is what they call everbearing you can see berrys the first year if not you should let them develop and not produce the first season. You do this by picking off all of the blossoms the first year.
If you have only 1 plant you will be hungry for strawberrys because it won't produce much. If you are short on garden space buy yourself a few of the plastic/pvc strawberry pots. About $4 - $8 each

Anywhere from one to three years?
The reason, The plants first must develop a good root system, and the first year when your plant blooms you should pull the flowers OFF, to permit a good strong root base. The second reason , is since you said plant, not plants, I assume you have only one plant.. Keep in mind, the more blossoms the more fruit. So if you get fruit the first year, it may be small, and very few, By the third year you should be getting more, But you'll need to plant more plants, to aid in cross-pollination.

depends on the plant. I got strawberries the first year. Look for the flowers. also plant your strawberries in a copper planter or basin, or get copper flashing and put around them. Slugs will devour the fruits

properly down right here, in Southern California, they are planted in a "hill" device in sparkling plastic. The roots are in basic terms planted as directly down as possible without attempt made to unfold the roots. and that they are watered with a drip device utilising drip tape. All runners are shrink off and the flowers are replaced each 365 days or the different 365 days. besides the undeniable fact which you probably decide for to apply a "disheveled-row" device and area the strawberries a pair of a million/2 meter aside and enable the runners fill interior the area and create a super row. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer like 10-10-10. do away with each and all the flower buds the 1st 365 days, and plan to reap right here years. Then each and each 365 days when you harvest you opt for for to skinny out the disheveled-row of small flowers, narrow the rows, and skinny the flowers to approximately 10 cm aside. and then, have faith it or no longer, you opt for for to mow the flowers so as that the leaves are shrink off and fertilize with a balanced fertilizer (They advise 2 kgs in line with 30 m of row), and water.
