First of all, don't freak out 'cause your emotional state has an effect on your body. It happened to me as well when I messed up in taking my BC pills. The continued bleeding is due to hormonal changes. It was very uncomfortable, but no permanent health damage resulted. I continued taking BC and the next month when I used it correctly, my period went back to normal. If you feel your doctor doesn't address your concerns adequately or pay enough attention to you, please look for another one. Not all doctors are created equal.

Depending on ur age. if u havent had children yet. then this is not for u but if u are done having children then u might. consider novasure ablation. u can look it up on internet, I had heavy bleeding and blood clots very bad cramps. I had this done in november 06. I no longer get my period, no more cramps, no pms symptoms. It has changed my life for better I could'nt leave the house before. and i would bleed for over a week. I dont have the mood swings anymore. I am 40 and I feel great. good luck

It sounds like you might have a hormone imbalance. If you have a primary care physician I would ask them to consider testing your thyroid because I learned from my gynecologist that in women who have thyroid problems irregular bleeding can be a symptom of thyroid problems.

If this is the dr that is not taking the problem seriously then I would recommend getting another opinion preferably from someone that does not share the same office as her.

This bleeding that you are having is called breakthrough bleeding and it can act a lot like a menstrual period.

If it's your gynecologist that isn't taking this seriously then I would recommend trying to find another dr to get an opinion from as well and from someone that does not share the same office as she does.

GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR! i had super heavy periods and i went to the doc and they put me on birth control that day. You dont have to wait a month! everything should be ok after a few months of being on the pill.

you are probably fine, but this happened to one of my friends. they actually discovered, after 2 months, that she was a hemophilac (blood doesnt clot: causing places to not stop bleeding). It wasnt a big deal, but they made her go on the patch. she also can not run around thetime of her period. i have no clue if this is whats up with you though. 10 days isnt that long though!
