A couple of days before you expect your period but 1 day before is more accurate.
When you go to the store and rest the test boxes they will say which ones you can take BEFORE your period is due.

5 days before your expected period, if you're regular. Just remember, you could get a false negative if you take it this early because it's not as accurate as if you took it the day after you expect to start your period. Good luck!

Not until your period is due. The chances of a false negative are higher before that. They don't call it the two week wait for nothing!
