LOL, while this may be true to some extent one must always keep in mind the time in which Virgil lived. He lived during the immediate period right before the advent of Christianity and some people see in his writing and poetry not only a hint of what was to come for the rise of Christianity but also a hint at the fall of Rome. It was a time of change for the Roman Empire and even though many see this as a time that the Empire was reaching its peak, others, such as Virgil, also saw the hints of what could and would be coming.

So, within this context, sure, one could suggest that he saw cracks in the walls of the Roman Empire. Was this a cloud in every silver lining? Perhaps. Or maybe he was just very wise and could see things that others chose to be blind to.
