BBC five live does not braodcast cricket for international listeners. How does the BBC know I am not in the UK? Is there any way to fool them?

They probably know based on your IP. You could do some things to spoof your IP but that's illegal.

BBC is suppose to be internationally available. I don't suppose you are logging in from somewhere where BBC is censored. There may however be copyright issues that might block certain things based on your ISP. (In UK certain US websites don't allow downloads)

They would be basing it on the ip address you are browsing from. It may be possible to use a proxy to listen to this but to be honest I have never got that to work trying to access content in other countries.

I don't know, but have you tried going to the radio via www.bbc.co.uk?
Try this link.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/fivelive.shtml

Or this link
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/sportsextra.shtml

If it works it is not illegal.
It could just be you are going to BBC 5 live instead of BBC 5 live sports extra.
