I was in the same boat you are! I quit when I was 7 and regretted it terribly. When I hit 15 I took it up again and now I even dance en pointe! It takes a lot of work and you'll prolly never be able to be in a dance company but who knows if you work hard enough! But definitely go back into it and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you love it and that's what you want to do then go for it! Good luck!!!

It's never too late to start dancing. I was in a tap class when I was 12 and there were 40 year olds in the beginner's class! Go for it, if you feel it, do it. You will probably have to start from the beginning again, but that's okay! You do it because you love it and because you want to have fun!
In highschool, as a Junior I started a diffrent kind of Dance. There were people there who never danced before.
Everybody's different as far as "catching on" quickly. It is true that usually the younger ones absorb things very fast, and as we age, not so much. However, that isn't always the case as we get older. I still catch on as quickly as I did when I was younger, okay maybe a little slower, but it's still fun and you still learn.
Sure you may need a little more practice or time to learn the steps, but it will pay off! It's so fun! If you practice, you WILL get better. Just practice the steps the right way.
As far as being a professional, it would take some hard work and dedication. It would not be a piece of cake. But if that's your dream, go for it.

You don't say what type of dance and you don't say what you want to do with what you learn in class.
If you're only interested in ballet and you want to be a professional ballet dancer then it would be difficult, but probably not impossible.
However, if you want to just enjoy that wonderful feeling of dancing and the joy of learning a new move, step, etc., then you're never too old.
Also, you're never too old to take a class. You've probably seen the 70 and 80 year olds taking jazz classes for the first time and performing in public places.

I don't know. I think it depends on the kind of dance you want to take. If you want to take ballet, it might be too late. Because you have to learn to stand on your tip-toes and that's learned easier when you are younger and weigh a little kids' weight. My cousin has been taking ballet since she was 3 and she told me it would be hard for me to learn at my age. Other forms of dance might be okay for you to learn at your age though. I wanted to get into some performing arts activity when I hit 20 years old. I got into singing and did well even though I didn't do that when I was younger. You might wanna consider that instead. As for me, I would like to test my luck in some form of dance too. But for somebody your age or my age, I would suggest doing some other form of dance other than ballet. Jazz, Tap, Swing, Modern, those are the best kind of dance anyways in my opinion.

Of course not! If you are passionate about learning dancing then go for it! Find a place nearby that you can take sdome lessons at try it out and decide if dancing is right for you!
The way you learn and how fast you pick up steps is really dependent on how passionate you are.
Hoep I helped!
