the only approach is direct, try sorry but you smell like a rhinos fart, i am single again...

How much do you like him? If your not too bothered then leave him but don't tell him "im leaving you, and by the way you stink". That might be bit harsh. If you really care for him, then can you try to live with the smell. You might become immune to it eventually. By the way, where abouts does this smell come from?

I wouldn't say it's because of his smell, but there's a great book I read once that had reccomendations on how to tell a person they smell bad.
Unfortunatly, said reccomendations didn't really work out if you were dating the person. The book was Why Can't Girl's Throw, I put the link down in the source.

I don't think you should tell him you're breaking up with him because of his smell. Just tell him your feelings for him have changed...
But before u do that, isn't there a way that you can help him With this little problem, find out the reason for his smell (is it the food he's eating, meds, the type of work he does, BO, what is it???) if there is a way you can help him eliminate that smell so you wont have to break up w/ him?!

I don't think there is an easy way to tell anyone that. It's gonna hurt his feelings whichever way you do it. He may not even realise he smells. You sure it's worth finishing with him for? Can you not just buy him some deodorant and hint a little? lol

y dont u just get him to use bodyspray or something. smelling weird sounds like a weak reason if its the only one. tell him he smells and then give him a chancce to try not smelling so "unusual."

If your worrying about upseting him lie through your back teeth and tell him it's for some other reason that he has no control over. If not then just tell the smelly tramp he needs to bathe once in a while!

I would buy him some aftershave and then wait about a week, if you really like him. And if it's over, don't let his smell be the reason why.

You dont specify which part of the anatomy exudes the smell, try encouraging them to change their diet. Stop drinking alcohol or ensure they are hydrated.

first ask him why the smell exist cause it could be a medical reason and if you dump him it may crush him. if it's not medical and he's just trifling then tell him to work on keeping himself clean and if it doesn't get better then it's over.
