I can only answer from my experience. I had the exact same situation. I stopped taking it within a month after I got pregnant, then went on Prozac (which I don't recommend -- it did nothing). My son is 5 and seems to have suffered no ill effects. He's very healthy. He does have mild Sensory Processing Disorder (http://www.sensory-processing-disorder.com/ ), but both his father and I have that in varying degrees so that appears to be genetic -- poor baby didn't stand a chance of NOT having that problem.
I don't recommend that you stay on it (except for your dr. recommended withdrawal period) but I don't think you've done any real damage by being on it for this short length of time.

If you think you are pregnant than you need to go and see a doctor. I was taking Paxil 20 mg a day and didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks. Luckily, I had an appointment with a doctor the next week and she took me off it right then. But they can prescribe you something else. It might not the best idea to take yourself off a medication like that. But Paxil is not safe. It's not a Category B drug. Its a D.

I dont know about Paxil but maybe you can switch to effexor if you still need something like I do.(I am 18 wks) My doctor said it would be more harmful to take me off of it and have my stress levels higher. We are going to try and wean me off of it in the 3rd trimester. If you are going to have a special needs child, God has already decided that. My first pregnancy I even cut out caffeine. I was sooooo good, and my daughter is developmentally delayed, obsessive compulsive, and has ADHD. My second pregnancy I had an MRI at about 6 weeks & lots of migraine meds from conception until about 8 weeks & he is perfectloy fine. Go figure!

I took it all through my last pregnancy and then they said that it was not safe... I could have shot the drug company.
When I found out that you can't even breast feed on it anymore I weaned and you should have heard the screams coming off that baby.
get off asap....
Good luck

Pray! God is your first line of defense. He can help when some people think there is no help.
Go to the doctor! They will be able to monitor the whole situation. But always pray & keep God first in your life. He will direct your paths.
