2 of my friends have the bt home hub and they do nothing but phone me for technical support. they both have had broadband for only a short time, and do nothing but complain about the home hub, whereas i have used a proper network router, with the same connection for 3 years without 1 complaint. it just shows that BT really is overpriced and crap!

If it's one of those white ones with the phone docked into it, well they are shite. I am on my 3rd now. BT keep replacing them and they still continue to be shite. I keep meaning to go out and buy a proper one. I have never had a more rubbish piece of kit in my entire life. Oh yes and I subscribed for a tenner a month to their remote technical support and they totally f.ucked my wireless up on my PC. Bravo BT.

I would get a new wireless router. Even the cheaper ones have got to better than this.

I find the bt software upsets everything. If you are using LAN or wireless connections I would uninstall all their software. If you are wireless use your cards own utility to find the hub, set the encryption and connect. You don't need any kind of management software this way.

I think you'd be better off asking BT rather than seeking advice from well-meaning strangers
