What is... the most time you have ever spent answering a question?
Are you... an answer in 3 words or less type..?
Or do you take the time to write things out completely?

I am both..
But, I like the long answers better.. I have spent over an hour on some answers.. researching for links and writing out a full opinion.

It totally depends on the type of question and what mood I'm in. Some of the answer require a lot of thought and passion and can take me quite some time to answer. Other questions can be short silly answers (which is the mood I've been in lately) or simple yes or no answers.

I tend to be verbose if the question relates to opinion or experience. I will go back and edit to make it more succinct if it seems that my answer might be so long that people might not want to read through the whole thing.

I couldn't even begin to guess the longest amount of time I've spent in answering a question. I am sure that I've exceeded an hour more than once. I often go back to look for added details by the Asker, as well as to see other answers. I will sometimes add to my Answer in response. So this can be cumulative over the course of a few days.

Still, some questions can be accurately answered in three words or less, so the length of the response is based on the nature of the question.

I do have to add that I HATE cut & paste answers where someone just goes to a website and copies the entire text for a topic and places it as their answer. I will use an excerpt in quotations to emphasize a point or verify a fact, and will provide the link to the full article.

Several minutes on a question would probably be the most. However I am a long answerer in most cases! My husband always says I take to long! I like either long answers or short, to the point answers if they are funny or true! In some cases I do research the answers but only if I really want to know for myself as well! In the end, I suppose it all depends on what type of answer a question warrants...so it could be hard to tell!! :O

I love to write. I think I'm pretty good at it and I'd love to some day write a book, but that's just hopeful wishing. I for the most part, take my time. I've spent an hour or more on some questions. I'm a very detailed person who totally gives my opinion, hurt full or not. I'm honest and kind and I think people deserve the best answers possible. I'm with you though, I sometimes get tired of all that writing and I write shorter type answers. Thanks for asking, that was interesting.

Well, I've never spent over an hour. But I think it took me 15 minutes once, constant interruptions.
I tend to write until I feel my thought is complete. Sometimes I can accomplish that pretty quick. Sometimes I have to force myself to stop.....like now.

I sometimes think that most people are not interested in long answers on P&S. If I am in some of the more serious sections, I will give some lengthy answers, according to what I want to say. But here, I usually try to limit it.

Mainly short answers, but I have done a few long ones. It depends on the question and how much I think people are really looking for.

Just all depends on the seriousness of the question, if I think that someone honestly wants to know others opinions and what they think should be done... I will answer the question thoroughly as long as it takes me.

Without disrespect......
What was the REAL question?
and remember that you are not just BOTH but MANY.
Research can be done at anytime and sooo quickly (internet)

Answer me this....

"Why are we here"? (4 words, as if that is of any import)

You can answer in as many words as you like and in any language that you like.
