However if the child does not wish to have it and is an older teen able to make his preference clear without sounding like he/she has been scripted you can file in family court for a visitation modification explaining the child's reason(s) and have him/her testify. In most cases the court will honor the child's preference, unless it is proven that the other parent has caused the child to have bad feelings about the parent. If that is suspect, that could become grounds for you to lose custody.

I didn't think it was up to the child to have the say in when visitation is terminated. I don't know if they can just say, "I don't want to see them anymore."
