Most definitely.

They would label Jesus soft on crime, weak on defense, for raising taxes, and a bleeding heart liberal for wanting to increase social programs for the poor.

Doc from above,

Jesus saved a women from being stoned to death for adultery as was the custom of the time. He said prostitutes and tax collectors would enter the kingdom of heaven before the self righteous religious hypocrits who attacked him. His disciples questioned why he spend so much time with prostitutes, tax collectors, samaritans, and other people deemed inferior by society. He praised the morality of the good samaritan (nonbeliever) over the fake morality of his own religious leaders. He constantly talked about helping the poor and seemed to like to criticize the rich and self rightesou religious leaders of the day.

Sounds to me like he was a left-winger.

Jesus, was also a teacher. One of the many things he taught, was self sufficiency ie: Give them a fish and they'll eat for a day, teach them to fish and they'll eat a lifetime. Where, oh where and how does THAT possibly fit in to the democratic mindset of entitlement? The democrats don't teach people to be self sufficient. They enslave them with government programs. Honestly, if you'd studied the time period or the Bible, you'd know that Christ leaned far to the right and was attempting to bring society back from the far left where abortion, gluttony, and moral decadence reigned supreme (Roma). -- Kind of like it was when Clinton was in office...

Yes, the Republicans probably would (and I say this, as a Republican), and to your second, he'd definitely be branded a lib and anti-American, but not the other 2.

Great question...

At the very least there would be a smear campaign regarding his association with a prostitute. Not to mention, he's ineligible. Not a U.S. citizen. Americans seem to forget that. He's middle eastern.

If Jesus existed today, he'd be racially profiled.

Yes, the Republicans would still block his program initiatives. They would deny that he's Jesus, and call him the anti-christ.

How would you know waht Jesus would say? I think you have an over inflated ego and think you could make Republicans feel stupid.

Sorry he wasn't into politics but saving souls. Funny how the party that claims Jesus is the same party that banned school prayer, Bibles in schools and display of the 10 commandments. Nice try but the hypocrisy is showing through
