With so little jobs, how do they pay the bills? I can understand why more people are moving to the big city because of the many jobs to work from but dont understand how people manage to live in small rural towns.

I have never lived in a small rural town in my life so please help me understand this.

the lack of jobs can be difficult, but a lot of people enjoy the simplicity of country life, as well as the fact that cost of living in these towns can be drastically less than the big city. I personally don't live in a small town currently but I have family who do. They love that things are so much more laid back and mellow than the city. It is what I love the most, and why I am considering moving to a tiny town.

first off, there are usually factories somewhere within 40 miles of these towns. So most of the workers work at these factores. Also, farming is very important in small rural towns. Another great part of these types of towns, is the companionship between everyone in the town. Everyone always waves and says hi to eachother, which makes for a very warm feeling in everyones hearts. Those are the ways that people can survive in these kinds of towns.

If you have always lived in a big city, there is no use trying to explain life in the country or small town. The people who live in small towns can't possibly understand how anyone could tolerate life in a big city.
I have lived in the country all of my young life, not a small town, but farm land. The memories of life close to nature will be with me forever.

I do live in the country just outside of a town of 403 people. One feels safe and peaceful away from all the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Everyone knows each other. Can go to town and talk to others without fear. Kids can play in the park without the fear of a drive by shooting. We can plant gardens and mow yards and ride horses. Our children can go by themselves to the store or walk over to a friends house. Life just seems less complicated. We can be left alone also.

We have jobs in nursing homes, restaurants, factories(drive a short distance), walmart, mickey d's, grocery stores, motels. Some drive to work in other cities that are near.

I came from a big city in Illinois. I hated the compact feeling with neighbors so close they could hear you breath. The smell of gas from autos stunk. Had to keep an eye on kids so they didn't go into neighbors yard, or OMG if the dog got loose.
No thanks.

they find jobs. or they create jobs, or they live off the state--meaning welfare, etc. small townlife has a lot going for it, as does big-city life, it's all in your perspective, what you want & what you're willing to give up for it---there's alot to be said for knowing your neighbors, knowing every car that passes by, who's in it & where they're going & all that, the trade off is that they know every last damn thing about your life too. Having lived in both the city & on a mountain off a dirt road an hour from the nearest gas station, not to mention a town, I know well the trade offs.

Life is slower and more peaceful. I don't live in a town, however, I am very comfortable going to Chicago. I am very glad that my kids got to see both sides of the fence. There are jobs out here in the hinter lands, but all the hassle of traffic, crowds, and noise are not here. I can go outside my house and throw a rock as hard as I can in any direction and not hit anything but air. Crime, what's that?

i admire my small city...once I say small I recommend like 5000 human beings. there is largely one intense and center college interior the district. ok-5 consumer-friendly colleges are everywhere in the little city. as far as the place I save, if have been talking clothing I might desire to tension to a city with a mall, because of the fact my city would not have one. i actually like that i'm able to turn down a rode and honestly finally end up interior the comparable place as in the past, some human beings say its boring, yet i discover issues to do. For one among those little city there are numerous bars. Like 15. i understand some human beings on the city yet its fake to assert i understand somewhat everyone. yet you no the asserting there are not any secrets and strategies in a small city, it incredibly is precise. in case you do no longer want something to get out keep it to your self. This summer season I took a visit to Chiago, and to tell you the certainty i became very scared. i'm no longer prepared on enormous cities, i assume after being sheltered in a trend for sixteen years, you get used to existence in a small place. I had to journey a city bus, which I in no way had to do in the past, because of the fact as quickly as returned they do no longer exist in my city.
