the angle is 58.93 degrees

use a caculator? enter the .8585 into the keypad, hit the function key and arcsin...

use a table, read the .8565 and read the angle

Remember that sin 0 degrees is 0, and sin 90 is 1.000, sin 30 is .500, sin 45 is sqrt of 2 /2 (or .707), sin 60 sqrt 3 / 2 (or .866). If you do enough of these problems, these relations for sin cos and tan will become part of you.

Just a first brush of help. I hope it doesn't overwhelm you.

Looking at the figures, as the angle is acute it must be between 0 and 90 and as the value > .7071 (45 degrees) the only answer that fits is a.

You should learn
Sin(0) = 0
Sin(30) = 1/2
Sin(45) = .7 (approx) - actual value = sqr(2)/2
sin(60) = .87 (approx)-actual value = sqr(3)/2
sin(90) = 1

I am taking x as the angle.

since sin(x) = 0.8565 which is closer to sin(60) in terms of value.

sin (90degree) = 1
sin(30 degree) = 0.5
sin(45 degree) = 0.7
sin(60 degree) = 0.86

Hence, the answer is option A.
