is there only one region in pokemon diamond and pearl?

because in gold and silver yu can go between johto and kanto and i'm wondering if it is the same or not

No, the only region in Diamond and Pearl is shinoh. None of the Pokemon games since Crystal, Silver and Gold have let you enter more than one region. However, in Diamond/Pearl all three of the other regions are mentioned.

In Kanto it's changed you can't go to all places you could go in Blue, etc.,and you can fight all gym leaders except some are different but there are two regions in Gold and Silver.
