VOX is a system that automatically sets the handset to transmit as you start speaking. You need to speak slowly as it can clip the start of the first word, or cough first

vox is voice or sound activation.
where by
if you turn on VOX and leave one handset and take the other, when the first one picks up a sound or voice it will switch on send, so you can hear whats going on at the other end.
its like standby mode.
