I mean the actual deffinition of 'psychic,' not those people who stare at your hand and tell you that you'll die eventually.

I am working on a report and want to see if people believe in true psychics; a survey I took in a cafeteria yesterday showed that more girl believe than don't, and guys are equally believing and dibelieving.

Yes. I do believe in psychics. Actually, dear, I believe in the gift of precognition and that is just slightly different. My family is populated with psychics and it is a gift handed mother to daughter, which may explain for purposes of your paper why it is that more females believe than males. The females have more irrefutable evidence than males do. And before you ask, yes, I also have the gift.

I used to think I was. Now it's almost pointless to even try anymore. I think some people who are given this so-called gift will also have it taken away or lose it for some reason.Maybe whatever spirit or entity was with us has found someone new or even younger. Maybe we are just hosts to these spirits or entities anyway. I suppose there may be some who have had many other past lives that makes them even stronger or more intuitive now. I met a psychic once who told me I would be visited by some blond woman. It turned out to be some friend of hers who happened to be a detective about some crimes in the area. There was also Swat team that was parked across the street who had all or most of their vehicles destroyed or damaged by an unknown force. There was what seemed to be a lot of paranormal or unexplained activity in that area as well. This has happened in more than one area where I have lived or been during my life especially in high crime areas. I don't really think it was because of me but I suppose there may have been "others" around me who overreacted to threats while supposedly protecting me. Really bizarre and supernatural events. I remember seeing them on television at least once but no mention of them anywhere else since as if these were like X-files or something and all records were seized or destroyed. Of course my dad used to say I was delusional anyway. If this is true than maybe we all are at some point in our lives when we believe something like this.

I've had a lot of "perceptive" experiences. It's spooky, but nice at times. I get a sensation in my gut. If you look at past questions on here, people have shared. To give on of mine. I was sitting next to a cousin in his very early 50's or late 40's, very physically fit that I saw very rarely. Stuck in traffic I kept thinking he was going to die from a heart attack, that it was coming. I kept pushing it aside because it was so morbid and didn't make sense with who he was. Within a year he did. It shocked everyone. I wish I'd said something, but it would have been the strangest thing to say. I pickup on other people's feelings and thoughts all the time. Sometimes it's just that I know them well. Other times it's spooky. An accountant I was ducking until I could get another one - he didn't call often but I knew every time it would be him, and saved myself the hassle of picking up once I started to believe myself. Never thought he was calling when it wasn't him either. (Then I got caller id & problem solved.) As you work on sorting these things out, you get better at interpreting them. Psychics that you see, I find even good ones, if they're in it for the money will push to come up with something when they aren't getting anything making it useless. Then there's the bad, fake, ones.

I do believe in ESP. It happens to me all the time. I often think of something happening and it does, or I think of someone I haven't seen and I see them or they call. I have a sense of knowing things about people or sensing things about them, even as a child. I had a very bad feeling about a man and once he tried to molest me.. I knew he was a dirty old man, and escaped! I have always had that ability to sense if there is something evil about a person, or know if I hear of a crime if the person is guilty or not.
I very much believe in psychic impressions. I also believe there are alot of phonies as well. I'd never go get a reading.

My mother went to one that lived in our home town. She wasnt one of the psychics that did it for money, didnt even really like it that people knew. She told my mother a list of things that would happen to her and other people in my family over the years. She also told my mother things that had happened in her past that no one knew about. Everything she told my mother has come true so far. The last thing is that im to have a baby boy when im 25. I JUST turned 24 right now so soon I will have to tell my husband no nooky for a year ;) . After hearing her talk and seeing everything come true...i believe in them!

Yes, though I would like to point out that every human being is capable of becoming what you would call a "psychic."
Most of the older religions on the planet--hinduism, buddhism, spiritual satanism--stress mental exercises, meditation, and conditioning, that allow one access to higher level brain functions. When one advances enough, the only limit to what one can do is imagination.
The western religions tend to add a mystic quality to what is in fact a natural part of everyday life. It's very likely that you've met a 'psychic' and didn't know it. Not everybody likes to advertise like those palm readers seem fond of doing..

We all have the skill of being psychic some people have natural ability and some need to practice and meditate to "awaken" it.
In our society today things get in the way of our natural connection to The Divine. It is that connection that gives us psychic ability. The further you allow yourself to be the less of a psychic you will be.

Have had more psi experiences than I can count. Although
psychicly skilled,I hold the average self proclaimed psychics
in question, especially the ones working out of shops for
$$$$.Some are for real and are talented in the skills, some
are totally bullshit.

With true psychics and such all over TV, anyone who doesn't "believe" in them needs to face reality.
Everyone is a tad psychic, with some of us more than others. It simply comes from development/use of your right brain lobe. It's our next evolutionary step.
