I know I probably don't have a right to ask this, but you wouldn't falsely yell fire in a crowded theatre, would you?

Our freedoms are be compromised. Look at the second Amendment on the right to keep and bear arms. I feel that one reason this country is what it is, is because of the right of self defense. WHOA, I also mean the right to free speech and all the other rights. The one everybody has and does not use is the right to vote.
Daily our rights are being usurped in the name of "Homeland Security"> Pause and reflect that if VTech allowed concealed weapons on campus some of the 33 people would be still alive and the number of wounded would be less.
As we knowingly or unknowingly abdicate self protection to the state then we also abdicate our freedoms. The war on terror is going to be ongoing for many years to come, and even if we invest in the state police forces with gestapo/KGB like powers we will not be able to fend off the terrorists.
Something to think about, one of our biggest allies in the middle east, Saudi Arabia, it is against the law to have the Christian Bible. So long as there is intolerance in the world the terror war will go on in some manner and no amount of state power can defend the individual, only the state. We The People, DO Establish..... is not an empty statement. The government or state can only exist by one of two methods, overpowering police/military might (Iraq/USSR) or the will of the masses. (USA/UK) so protect all your freedoms, go vote, get invloved.
AS for the Miranda Rights, while these are rights under the INTERNAL legal system, by now every body should know what they are. AS for external activities, phsssstttt.....
OK I will put away my soap box

I didnt realize that about the reading rights before being arrested is no longer applied because, I dont get into trouble to be arrested. Yes freedom of speech is still legal however some may not always feel it is being applied.
I think the money is the reason other countries are interested in being a U.S. citizen. Alot, of people in other countries do not talk with our homeless that are living in the streets , starving families, the domestic violence victims that do not get help, rape victims, or murderers that go free. They do not hear from the people that served in war and were never found , they do not hear from the soldiers who living with agent orange and dying because they were sprayed wile over in war.
The do not speack to the families that had deformed babies because they were not told if they had agent orange it is passed through intercourse.
Alot of people would keep quiet see no evil hear no evil but they have the root of all evil wich is money.
There are those that noone listen to such as people that try to inform others about the danger of our ozone layer and how it will destroy about one third of the earth with fire , one third of the water with fire and one of ALL Life.
The life that remains is suffer pleagues and famine.
Maybe you all will not agree on everything but I hope I get best answer for at least being the most informative as far as links to back up statements, and for the fact I am speaking for those who can not be heard from.

Bush thinks the Constitution is "just a piece of paper" and between the 2 Bush's they have 4 on th US Supreme Court and all but 2 are Republicans!
You can't be arrested for anything and not be given Miranda! Whether you are charged , or not, like in a DUI, once you are under arrest, or even feel you cannot leave the police station, you have the rights spelled out in Miranda and other decisions!! We haven't gone back to putting US citizens in concentration camps, like we did Americans of Japanese ancestory during WWII! YET!
It is legislation like the Military Commissions Act of 2006 I worry about.
You can be arrested, never charged, never see the inside of a civilian court. If you are charged, you will be tried by a military tribunal with no indictment, no trial by a jury of your peers and no right of an appeal of even a death sentence to the US Supreme Court!

Yes, many Americans believe this to be true. Look what politcally correct, which is censure, is doing to curtail our freedom of speech. Look at what the Patriot Act is doing to curtail our constituional rights, in the name of national security. These are only two examples , the lists is much longer.

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 removed habeas corpus restrictions, so now the administration can legally imprison people without charges, a lawyer, a trial, or even a phonecall, INDEFINITELY.
How much more creeping fascism can We the People take?

Nope, my right are fully intact because I abide by the law, am not a terrorist, and live quite well, so my constitutional rights are intact, Hmmm are you losing yours or something?
PS. Your Miranda warning only has to be read to you when you are charged with a crime. You can be arrested for any number of things, and not charged.

For the first 150 years of our history, Moranda rights didn't exist!
(But the right to a fair trial did, and still does.)
The reading of Moranda rights is just another one of those idiotic liberal wingnut things that we've made our law enforcement officers do that makes no sense to anyone except jackass defense attorneys trying to find reasons to set criminals free.

Our rights are slowly being eroded and we stand around and let it happen. Get smart folks, soon our rights will consist of the right to remain silent. Thats what the politicians are counting on.
