Depending on the material,if it's wood use Old English .It's easy to use,very effective,comes in darker and lighter shades and is inexpensive.

If it's a wood bar stool, use a crayon or combine several to match the wood color. Wax crayons for wood are available at the hardware store. Work the crayon into the scratch, then heat the repair with a blow-dryer and buff with a rag. This will work the repair into the stool so well, you'll never know it's there. I did this on my mother's antique china cabinet with regular Crayola crayons and it came out beautifully. Even when the sun shines on it you can't see a thing.

If the stool is wood you could buy furniture polish from Wal-Mart and put it on there to remove the scratches.

A furniture store, Has just the thing, I used to work for a moving Company, And we had repair kits for most any furniture.
