I'm someone who LOVES her job. It has its crappy moments but those are few and far between. The people I work with are wonderful and my work is something I love to do even as a hobby.
Retail sucks...period. Hence why you will never catch me there. The businesses know their employees are generally low-skilled and usually don't have an education beyond high school so they don't expect them to fight back. And on top of that, employers really don't give a damn what's going on in your personal life. They don't care what your needs are (and this holds true in many office positions as well).
Your job is there to serve the customer and get paid. If you don't like it, you're free to leave. I'm not saying this to be cruel but I hear of so many retail employees whining and yet they do nothing to fix their situation.

I love my job, I am 21 yrs old and a Frame Attendant for Verizon Communications in NJ. This is the only job that I have ever heard of that pays you $60,000 plus a year without having any degree. Of course you dont start off at $60,000 but for every position there is a max out pay rate and time. For my position it's a 4 yr max out rate and at 4 yrs ill be making $60,000 or more. Reason being is because we get two raises a year, (every 6 months) and a union raise of about 3% every year as well. We get full paid benefits without paying any premiums and I dont work with any constant supervision. Its a union job so thats why the benefits are great. All you have to do is apply online at verizon.com go to jobs and find positions in your area and schedule an appointment to take a simple test. The test is very very easy called the Universal Battery Test which alot alot of people fail because its so easy they either guess on alot of questions which are held against you or dont take their time because they rush. Please if you are going to apply for a position do not underestimate the test. They also conduct a background and drug test. Great company, they treat you well.

I love my job. I never had a job I did not like. Work is a frame of mind, usually is not the work that bothers people, but the fact that they have to be there unwilling when they rather be out on the beach. You can learn to like your job when you begin to except the fact that you need the money, the kids have to eat, and finally accepting it. There are jobs that are very stressful, and some people can't handle stress my advised and only if you can't move on to another job is take it one step at a time. Did you choose that job, and why? did you enjoy the work at one time, and gradually lost the thrill? Like i said I love my very stressful job because I accepted the terms. Have you thought of doing something else? You can always get a few days of training a week to prepared for another job while still holding on to the income of this one, but as long as you there, maybe the change of mind frame might work...Good luck. Love your work or love your company? Usually, it is advisable to love your work not your company. I wrote a blog entry about making a bad job look good in my blog. Perhaps, it is time for you to move on to another industry or line of work.
If you wish to remain with Ikea, befriend someone at work, reduce your travelling time by living nearer to work, know when it's not about your job and do good deeds. Here is the excerpt from my blog entry:
Start Quote
I love the part below in her article because it provides a reality check for unhappy employees who are having good jobs. A job :
* Stretches you without defeating you
* Provides clear goals
* Provides unambiguous feedback
* Provides a sense of control

I think everyone has a problem with their job. Some days are worse than others. Your situation sounds like a situation where you should start looking for another job. It sounds like things are'nt too good there. Try applying at a clothing store or something of interest too you. Or even a place the the people are nicer at this point.

I love what I do for a living. I run a home based business on a part time basis, meeting, and speaking with lots of fascinating people, and providing a service which makes profit every month. If it's something you'd ever thought about, go to our website, toprewards.co.uk We might just have the answer for you.

I am a Wall & Floor Tiler and I absolutely love my job - very rewarding(not just financially), meet lots of people and get around a bit. Last job based in a laboratory got very boring - going to work at the same place every day, doing the same things day in and day out.

I actually love my job, at least the job part. The pay is lousy and my boss is an overbearing control freak. Where I live options are limited. I work with disabled people and love them and working with them. I need the work and it is emotionally rewarding.
