Have any of ya'll read Torey Haden's books? She writes about her experiences from her career as a special education teacher and also as a therapist for a brief time. It's very interesting. Since her books are spread out over years, it's also interesting to see how Special Education has evolved. Look here for more info: http://www.torey-hayden.com/index.html

I love her books, so real, so in touch with their feelings and most of the time her own....you can see why and what it takes to be a teacher in the classroom with children who have such dibilitating issues and how much love plays a part in to what extent they can be returned to the "normal" world.cant wait till she writes another.

I have read several of her books, including "One Child" and "Somebody Else's Kids." The first one was wonderful, and the second was also very good. She appears extremely gifted, both in teaching special needs kids and writing for the public. I loved her books.
