HELLZ YA! While we're at it lets bring back Action T4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-4_Euthanasia_Program) to clean out our nursing homes, hospices, and ICU wards! That will definitely provide some health care savings! Even allow us to afford universal health car for all Americans worthy of it.
F--k, let's restart the Holocaust, but this time kill ALL the Jews ALL over the world, even half Jews, quarter Jews, and eighth Jews. That would make the Muslims on the other side of the world really happy and they would stop plotting to blow up our airliners and embassies.
After all, if it's okay to kill the unborn in-utero because they are unwanted, destroy embryos to eventually maybe develop cures for illnesses, euthanize the comatose and terminally ill because it's too expensive to care for them and there is "no hope" of them returning to consciousness or "enjoying" life again, gun down abortionists, bomb scientists that do medical research on animals, and execute convicted murders because they murdered someone else, why not let us kill anybody and everybody we want to! Personhood under the law should once again be restricted to white landowning males of voting age. And even then it should be okay to kill them.
The point he, and I, are trying to make is that if life is not protected for *everyone* from conception to natural death how can life be protected for *anyone?* He's even using the logic pro-choice people use to justify unlimited abortion on demand. I'm using quality of life and appeasement logic for my arguments, plus pointing out the things at least some of us already accept as exceptions to the sanctity of life.

You make an excellent point which I suspect will be missed by most.
Fact is, in many societies in history, parents could perform "abortions" on their children. It was only after they had undergone the rites of passage into adulthood that they became members of the tribe or society, and before then, the parents could take their lives without consequence.
Twelve years old is an arbitrary limitation. So is birth. So is any other time we can come up with before birth.
The abortion debate will continue to be rancorous and often inane until the majority recognizes that we are talking about where to set that arbitrary limit which many will never agree with, and then we can finally resolve it by realizing who it is that should set that arbitrary limit, which is the individual state legislature, rather than courts or any federal body.

A 12 year old should never have sex protected or not protected. Sex was meant for married people ready to take care of a baby. If the baby is born it should be adopted so the 12 year old and the baby is getting uncontrolled welfare that hard working families have to pay for. Anyway, abortion is wrong and it is like throwing a baby in the trash. It wasn't the baby's fault the mom was being stupid and selfish.

excuse me but theres nothing wrong in my opinion for a 12 year old to have her child, I was 14 when I had my first child, and he is just fine and I have no problem taking care of him and Im 18 now and my life couldnt be any better, and If it werent for my son I probably wouldnt be here today. He changed my life when I had him, made me realize a lot of things. but i should add if your not ready to take on the responsibility of a kid you shouldnt open your legs. but abortion is not right, think about if your mom had got an abortion when you were in her stomach, you wouldnt be here, heck i wouldnt be here to argue about this. Alot of people take life for granted and I tell ya what karma comes around... The only way an abortion should be allowed is for a rape victim or incest, why anyone would be doing that beats me. but ya know i cant change anyones thought, but to me abortion is wrong.
Word you question right and you might get the right answer....

Why not! A 12 year old usually has been raped and they do not have the cognitive ability of informed consent! Do you have any idea what a pregnancy does to a growing 12 year old child's body?
Apparently a 12 year old's life matters little to you as you aren't going to have to support it. 12 year-old's do not qualify for assistance as a mother under any program I am aware of.
I know, she should just find one of those sweat factories, like in Mass., who hired illegals to make body armor for the military under a 64 MILLION dollar government handout! They were just trying to maximize profits!

How many times do I have to say this?
Abortion is a lame alternative to responsible contraception.
Why can't people get on board with unconditional access to contraception?
If someone as young as 12 manages to get pregnant, should we not provide means for them to PREVENT that careless pregnancy?
You have yet to address this issue, and I wish you would.

I don't agree. There have been numerous cases were young children have been abandoned and have still survived. See "feral children".
A fetus under 16 weeks is not going to survive unless it is attached to me like a parasite.

Well, you are right. Every life is sacred. That means you can't brush you teeth, blink or take anti-biotics. Each of these activities results in the death of many lives. Add to that stepping on the ground, drinking water or eating any food.
