How do I find a birth certificate of a U.S. Citizen born in France?

I need to find a copy of a birth certificate for my deceased uncle. He was a U.S. citizen but was born in France. Any place online where I can go to find this information?

It should be available from the town hall (mairie) in the town in which you were born.
