IF they were responsible(which is a dramatic jump from saying 9/11 was an inside job to directly placing the blame), it would be fitting for every amount of wealth and assetts they own to be turned over to the government and to the victim's families, and then they should be locked in prison if not recieve the death penalty for treason and murder.

Since 9/11, conservatives have made it clear to the American people that we are in a critical contest with our very future as the championship. President Bush and other prominent members of the Republican Party have specified that if we do not win this battle in the War on Terror, our children and grandchildren will face a threat far greater than what we face today. The right has explained the rules of engagement to the point of exhaustion--and yet, it seems that the American people have decided to cover their ears rather than hear the truth.

These are grim times. The party of defeat seems to be the party with momentum. The country has seemingly reverted to a 9/10 mentality, when we need a 9/12 mentality now more than ever. The stakes are simply too high for morale to be this low.

Where is the proof of your claim?

Our dispute with Communism and its ulitmate collapse in Eastern Europe taught us that we can prevail against our enemies. But in that case, we did have one thing in common with them: we both desired to survive. Any nuclear confrontation would result in mutual destruction, and that was a powerful deterrant. The radical Islamists have no such desire. They have sworn to destroy Western civilization and all it stands for, and the US is its chief representative. They have no qualms about dying. Death while in the act of killing one's enemy, they believe, assures one of a higher place in heaven. The loss of the war in Iraq will prove to these radicals two things: (1) Allah really is on their side, and they should continue on the path they are currently on, and even escalate further and (2) the corruptness of Western civilization has led to such softness that we haven't the courage and determination to fight long and hard enough to achieve victory.

We must keep the fight on the other side of the world, or it WILL come here. Victory IS possible. Defeat will mean the eventual end of Western civilization in general and the US in particular, as we know them.

A couple of quotes from the site noted below:
Osama bin Laden:

Carrying out terrorism . . . is one of the tenets of our religion and Shari'ah . . . This war is fundamentally religious . . . Under no circumstances should we forget this enmity between us and the infidels. For the enmity is based on creed.

Hussein Massawi, former leader of Hezbollah:

We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you.

Back to your original question, with a slight variation: "What would be a good punishment for an administration that ignored some pretty stong signals that this would happen eventually, and whose leader went about chasing Washington skirts instead?"

Not even Art Bell believes that Bush orchestrated 911, it was not an inside job.
