I abhor abortion - but I defend YOUR RIGHT to have one. If it is outlawed, again, many women will die needlessly. Those who use it as a form of birth control should be sterilized.

Neither!
I am pro-choice, and despite what ignorant people out there may say against me, pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion, and neither does it mean anti-life.
As a physician, I have to deal with the HUNDREDS of babies born with syndromes and disorders caused by any number of things from genetic disorders to drugs and alcohol mothers consume during pregnancy. Some mothers do drugs because they hope their baby will not survive and this is an "easy way out" of a tough situation (accidental pregnancy, rape, etc.) Some do it out of ignorance not understanding the consequences of drinking alcohol or doing drugs during pregnancy. Some mothers try at home abortions that inevitably lead to disastrous consequences.
In the end, regardless of the cause, these children are born with vast medical problems and don't make it out of the hospital alive. The ones that do have chronic illnesses, and the mothers end up abandoning them. Mothers may end up with infections from the at home abortions or "back alley" abortions.
Rather than see that happen day after day, I choose to believe in pro-choice, the right for a mother to decide whats best for her situation. If she feels the need to abort, so be it. If she prefers to have the child, so be it. It may not be right for everyone, but what matters most is what is right for the person carrying the fetus inside her, that's the mother.
Those that say that the fetus has a right as well, please spare me your diatribes. I understand the religious arguments and you will not convert me to your thinking. If you chose your line of thinking, then there are two lives to consider, the fetus and the mother. You cannot place the fetus' life above the mother's, not in my book, no way, no how.
And if you are saying G_d has a purpose or a plan for the fetus, next time you see a hungry, abandoned child on the street corner or in a homeless shelter, please, sit down with that child and explain G-d's plan for him so he can be comforted by his lack of food and shelter, while you go home to your kids and feed them bottled spring water and organic formula and tuck them into their nice and cozy Pier 1 bed.

This may sound a little contradictory to the overly-indoctrinated, but I am pro-Life, which is why I favor women's access to safe abortion services when necessary. It is clear that women will get abortions whether or not they are legal, and that infections and injuries from illegal abortions have cost many women their lives.
By the way, I make the same argument about drugs. Prohibition makes problems worse by making it impossible to control purity or quality, and by bringing huge amounts of money into the picture.
I don't think anybody is really "pro-abortion", and it's a little hurtful to frame your question in that way. I think every abortion is tragic; but every unwanted, unsupported, abused child is far more tragic.
We need to decide whether we really want to live free, or not. True freedom means making your own decisions, and allowing others to make theirs.

I'm in the middle on that. I believe that if a woman is a victim of rape or incest, she has the right to have an abortion. She did not have sex with someone consentually. Another reason why a woman should have an abortion if the baby will cause any harm to her health. Certain regulations should be made with abortion such as when the baby can be terminated. I knew a girl that terminated a baby at 4 months. I could not believe that she destroyed her baby after all that. development.
These are just my opinions. I don't want to be hated because of my opinions.

Pro-life is a misnomer as you aren't really pro-life at all. You are for telling a woman what she can and can't do with HER reproductive system.
While not for abortion, I am not for intervening in a privacy issue that has nothing to do with GOD. I don't want unwanted children in this world. There is enough who you don't take care of already!
Interesting how you put that: Pro-life or pro-abortion! I thought the correct term was pro-choice? Guess we know where you stand, no matter how repugnant it is!

I think that question needs to be relabeled to read, " pro choice, or anti choice"
I am definitly PRO CHOICE!
Why should someone who does not know me have any say what I do with MY body, no matter the circumstances?
They shouldn't
No matter how morally repugnant someone may find it, it is still a choice that is to be made by ONLY the woman. It is her body that is going to be ripped open by a baby, hormonal changes, and financial drain.
I know some people say " birth control, birth control" But that doesn't always work. Best intentions aside, sometimes condoms break, and oral birth control fails.
Unless it is your fetus, your uterus, your body, your money....you have no right to say anything about it.
The abortion debate has far gone from being a political debate of legal/illegal...it's turned into a completely religious debate.
*news flash* not everyone believes in god, kids.
It's mostly men who are sooo against abortion. Men are obcessed with their sperm. How can we as women destroy something that they spent 3 and a half minutes making?
...how dare we?

Noone is pro-abortion, people are pro-choice. Anyone who is Pro-abortion is not right in the head.
Pro-life is only pro-life if they also believe in free maternity care and support broader healthcare coverage for once the baby is here. Otherwise, they're just pro-birth.
Pro-Abortion <- Pro-Choice <- Indifferent -> Pro-Birth -> Pro-life

I believe it is the woman's choice, with qualifications.
First trimester only, except in situations where the mother's health is in danger, and/or critical birth defects. I don't understand why republicans oppose this, given their vehement opposition to social services.
In the cases of rape, I think it is cruel and unusual punishment to force a woman to carry to full term. She didn't want it. She didn't ask for it. And there is no damn reason for her to follow through with it.
Pro-life isn't pro-life. It's pro-life-with-special-qualifications. Most who are pro-life are also pro-capital punishment and pro-war. War that has killed thousands of innocents, including children and infants. So their pro-life and "holding all life sacred" comes with a big asterisk. Pro-life means only "life like theirs".
Pro-lifers are egotistical and selfish. Pro-choicers are just that, the women makes the choice based on their own beliefs and information.
Of the two, pro-choicers are the less hypocritical.

Damn Good Question! And I am so glad that you asked this. For most of my Adult Life, I was for giving a Woman the right to choose. It's her body, right? But, just this past week. I was told that someone that I call a Friend. Had made the choice to have an Abortion. It had never been so close to my doorstep. And it bothers, me, even today. It's not just a Political Issue. It's life. And we should treat it as such.

I believe that you mean "pro-choice" or "no choice". I don't know anyone who could honestly say that they were "pro-abortion" and "anti-life". However, for whatever reason this is how this debate has been railroaded over the years. I don't believe that anyone relishes the idea of abortion--but the issue is whether a woman has a choice or not.

I believe in abortion only if the woman is going to die if she
doesn't have the abort or if the woman has been molested
or raped and became pregnant from that.
Anyone else who is thinking of aborting because they don't
think they can handle raising the child should have it and
put it up for adoption. That baby didn't ask to be made
but it deserves the chance to live a full life.
