I'd strongly recommend a solid wood frame - those particle board or plywood things that are sold warp with the slightest amount of water. If you use these materials, at least use several coats of a waterproof sealer. Other than that, try googling DIY aquarium stands:

Not sure what kind of stand you're looking for. The easiest and CHEAPEST stand we've ever done was this:

Materials:
6 cinder blocks (6" x 8" x 16")
3 2x4's (48" long)
1 16" x 48" pc of 5/8" plywood

Assembly:
Measure the width of your tank. Mark the floor with the measurements of the tank. Place the bottom cinder blocks on the floor between the marks. Stack the remaining blocks. Place the 2x4's evenly on the blocks. Place the plywood on the 2 x 4's. Place the tank on the plywood.

Go to Home Depot, They can tell you the kind of wood needed to support the weight of the Tank. Is the tank for fish or reptiles? Salt or fresh water? - you will need to water seal the wold.

Also for a small fee Home Depot will cut the wood for you.

Assuming you want to buy the glass, you will need a bio-friendly sealer for it.

Good luck... tanks are so overpriced.
