I started to get mail for someone else with a similar name to mine. I guess his name is attached to my address in a sort of general database somewhere. Mail is coming from everywhere, including medical journals, credit cards, businesses, retail, etc.

Not only is this annoying, but I'm afraid that this person might not get important mail. Has this happened to anyone out there, and is there like a general place where I can write to and correct this, instead of having to mail each specific company or business?

Thanks

definitely talk to your mailman, if that doesnt help then go into the post office and start from there. Fun! goodluck cause this happened to me too.

Make sure to let your carrier know that your receiving someone else's mail. He/she may not realize. One way to do this is either to make sure your name ONLY is in the mailbox. If not, tape a small piece of paper in your mailbox with the neames of the residents and "ONLY".

when I get misdirected mail, I write "not at this address" and put it back in the mail. tell your postal carrier or the post office about the mix-up.
