No, that's not rude at all. Asking what sex you are kinda helps you figure out who you really are talking to on the other side of the computer screen.

No, not on here, some people don't want anyone to know and
feel its one more link to themselves and they don't want peeps
back at home knowing who they are on here, so they change
sexes.
