your argument is pointless, how someone plays in the playoffs has and should not have any effect on how they played in the regular season, if his play during the season warrants MVP then he should get it, and then he goes and plays like crap in the playoffs, he still deserved the season MVP, just not playoff MVP, not that i care whether either of the 2 get MVP, and as i am speaking against your belief that dirk sucks i know i will not get best answer because of how petty people are on here about it's there view or no view

Dirk and Nash were the major applicants for the 2007 MVP once the season ended. So both of them prevailing it would not be a wonder. Even beforehand the playoffs, I prefered Nash to win it. yet I nonetheless can understand why Dirk advantages it to boot. His cutting-edge unfavourable performance might want to point not something about him deserving it or not. It did some damage to his universal image for particular. yet: awards have a popularity for a reason. The regular Season MVP ought to receive to the MVP of the regular Season! It makes no experience to provide it in accordance to at least something that got here about beforehand or after the regular Season. Dirk performed Very demanding and at a really intense element in the course of the season and so he advantages some credit for it. compared to Shaq who's too bored to play beforehand the playoffs. in case you want to reward a participant's playoff performance, there are dissimilar different thoughts to do it. The Championship ring and the Finals MVP are considered higher honors through a lot of human beings. Dirk gained't win both this 12 months and this on my own is adequate of a punishment. Like I suggested, i wish Nash wins the MVP. i merely can't see what type of excellent judgment makes human beings say that someone advantages (or not) an wide-spread Season award, in accordance to what they did 10 days After the season's end or perchance 10 years beforehand that.

Go NAsh!!! He is magical with a basketball in his hands!!! Can anyone tell me what Dirk has done to deserve MVP???!!! Nothing!!! except maybe score over 30 point about 15 games this whole season. Np doubt about it it has to be Nash, for 3rd year in a row. Dirk makes points and gets what?, one assist per night??? Steve NAsh averages a double-Double with 12 assists and 18 points per game. Not only is he a phenominal player, but he makes players around him great, and that is how basketball was designed, temawork baby!!! is the only thing that wins ball games, not those stupid 50% chance of making fade-away jumpers by Dirk.!!! Nash, no doubt!!!

Go Suns!!! All the way baby!!! 4-1.

P.S. Kobe deserves MVP more than Dirk, he has to carry his team in order to win, with like 45+ points every night. He has had 10, 50+ point games this year!!!

well i know nash is the mvp since i follow phoenix suns basketball. But i mean its tough to pick those two. And remember its reg season mvp not playoffs mvp. And since mavs had the best record and dirk and nash had equally being valuable for their record. To be honest i would rather have nash win nba finals mvp than 3 peat mvp ;).

there is this thing that steve nash doesn't deserve it 3 times in a row cause his not as good as wilt chamberlin or magic but all forget something, maybe his not as good as those guys who won it 3 times but HE IS THE BEST WE"VE GOT FOR THE PAST 3 YRS. Go! nash for M.V.P and one last thing for all of the doubters out there, if lets say steve and Dirk went down with an injury(hop it never happens) and both missed 10 games, how many games do yo'll think the suns and mavs would win? i guess the suns would go 4-6 and the mavs 7-3 and don't tell me the mavs are a better team coz we all know the suns have better ball handlers, 3 point shooters and better post up guys than any other team in the league and you would expect them to be fine without nash but the truth is they need him to win!!!! funny, ha thats why nash is the most valuable player( his team can't do without him)

I think it's pretty close between Dirk, Nash, and Kobe, but you can't base someone's MVP argument off what he does in the playoffs. That's what Finals MVP is for. Regular MVP is for strictly the regular season only.

The difference between nash and nowitzki, suns cant simply win WITHOUT nash, he is proven a GREAT ASSET, and while the mavs, dont play as well, they are hurt if he isnt dressed!!!

He might get it just because it's based on the regular season and his team was one of the best ever (record-wise). Nash played good enough to win it but might not because some don't wanna give it to him 3 years straight. Kobe is the best player of the 3 but probably won't win because his team struggled at the end of the season & just barely made the playoffs. I think you also have to consider LeBron James though...and maybe Tracy McGrady somewhere in there based on his play at the end of the regular season.

yeah STEVE NASH4 MVP!!!!! yesss but dirk deserves MVP because during the regular season he improved sooo much and helped his team go into the playoffs and their standings is 1st!! and they are struggling in the playoffs because they under estimated the warriors... cuz they were 8th and i don't think no one in the history of NBA let 8th win over 1st.... so i'm not sure who's gonna win.. either mavs or warriors... =P

19 pts a game in the playoffs is pretty good. Then you have 24.6 pts per game. Dirk deserves MVP. But then Kobe has 24.6 PPG also. Nash has 18.6 PPG.

--Assist--
Dirk--2.0
Nash--12.3
Kobe--4.0

It's close but I think Dirk gets MVP.
