Strange question. How do you make a realistic judgement? Intellect is dependent on a lot of factors - many sports people are what you might call dumb, but they can think and act faster under pressure with spectacular results.

Similarly, many intellectual people can't even solve very simple practical problems as their mode of thinking operates on a more abstract level.

Basically, if you go around thinking you're too intelligent for your family/friends/colleagues then it breeds a judgemental, arrogant attitude which will come crashing down the minute you start running into people who are more intelligent, crafty and manipulative than you are.....

No. I will confess. I am a little on the airhead side. But there are things I can do that some of these other nerds can't and I am sure there are things they can do that I can't. I don't really like to compare my intelligence to others that much. What's the point? :)

What kind of intelligence? Affective, Cognitive, physcomotor or emotional intelligence?

NEVER underestimate peoples intelligence. Its a fast track to an embarrassing fall. What people know is not a reflection of intelligence.

I like to think I'm of at least average intelligence but with talents that set me apart from the maddening crowd.

Yep, all the time, the calibre of morons you see today is terrible. I look then in the eye and tut at their stupidness. Then I generally run to avoid a beating from someone much bigger than angrier than I am.

For the most part, yes, I would say I'm more intelligent than the average person. I'm no better, and I don't judge others against my intelligence. However I don't have time for people who choose to dumb up their language or not improve themselves.

Absolutely not, I would never compare any ones intelligence to mine because I don't have much.

Some people are a bit daft in some areas, but geniuses in other areas, and others are vice versa.

Vive la difference.
