What happened to House's leg?

I just got into watching " House " this season and I was wondering what happened to his leg? Why does he limp?

He had an infraction in his thigh muscles that wasn't diagnosed for 4 days (the doctors thought he faked the pain in order to get drugs), that led to muscles death.He was the one who ended up diagnosing himself. Then Cuddy took over his treatment and she suggested cutting the leg off. House refused and asked to be put under induced coma, so that the leg would heal - a procedure that could have caused his death. While he was in coma, Stacy signed the forms allowing Cuddy to perform a surgery to remove the dead muscles. The surgery probably saved his life, but also damaged his ability to walk and caused a nerve damage which led to chronic pain.
