Being a Denver fan I was glad to see Oakland picking Russell. I was a little worried they would go with Calvin Johnson......didn't want Johnson in the AFC West. Not saying Russell might not be good but it will take him a year or two or three where Johnson can produce right away for a team.

He will be the starter in a simplified West Coast scheme and the Raiders with their solid Defense could be a force in 07-08

This was a great pick. Russel has an unbelievably strong arm, great pocket presence, and good mobility. He's the perfect pick for Oakland. They needed a QB, and he's the right one.
