Nope, didn't make the six weeks. Once the stitches healed (episiotomy) and the bleeding stopped, the temptation got to us. Hurt a little the first few times though, waited a little longer with the second baby. Didn't make it the six weeks with either one though.

I waited for about 8 weeks w/ my first (of course he was almost 9 lbs at birth and I had to have LOTS of stitches!!). But w/ my second I didnt need but 2 stitches and wasnt in as much pain... but i still waited the 6 weeks just to be sure.

It really all depends on HER and her comfort level! If she feels up to having sex.. then by all means you can TRY. If at any time she has any pain then STOP!! Let her know that even though she is willing to TRY that you are NOT expecting her to make any promises of following through with the entire thing and that you know that she may need to stop if it starts to hurt!! Make sure that you are completely understanding!!

We waited about 4 weeks. I had an episiotomy. A bad one, but I healed well. We just took things slow, and had no problem. There were some positions that hurt because of the angle, but for the most part, it was fine. Just go slow and make sure your huband is kind enough to stop if you need him to.

I wanted to go sooner but my husband didn't. He said we should wait to see what the dr. says and also said that there is a reason that they say you need to wait 6 weeks. So....6 weeks...

I delievered vaginally and waited 6 weeks, but I know a few people who had c-sections that didn't wait as long. It would really be best to ask your doctor that question.

With my last I had it just a little sooner. With my first I went a little over a year. It wasn't cuz of any medical problems.
