I would react with a big huge "SO WHAT!" If this is the biggest crisis in you life be happy. There are starving children in this country and you're worried about some other girl who probably spent as much time as you looking for the perfect dress. She's probably just as mad that you have her dress!

So what. In ten years, you might remember the color of your dress. It's your high school prom, not your wedding day. I stayed home the night of my junior prom. Not only did I not have a date (a big deal to me 13 years ago), but I figured it would be as boring and cheesy as every other dance I went to-- Me sitting on the sidelines, feeling left out, yet trying to figure out what the big deal was supposed to be. I did go to prom the next year. Boring. I left early because I figured being home and reading was better than that. It was.
Thirteen years later, high school is long gone. I'm now 29 and married (I had a wonderful wedding), and expecting my first child. In a few years, this won't matter. Either get a new dress, or be the more mature person and compliment the girl on her great taste.
Violamom also made a good point. I've seen how expensive prom dresses are these days. The cheaper priced ones seem to be as expesive as the dress I wore for my wedding six years ago. (My husband and I will celebrate our six anninversary in June.) If you're like my 21-y-o SIL, you'll wear the dress once, maybe twice, and then "need" a new dress for the next dance (and my MIL buys them for her, new). I wouldn't be surprised if there are kids in your school whose parents can barely afford to clothe them for school, let alone some overhyped dance. Be thankful that your parents shelled out the bucks for the dress and whatever else you're wearing that night.
(On the plus side, next spring for the senior banquet [my husband is in grad school persuing his master's of divinity], I'll have a plethora of dresses from which to choose, just from my SIL, let alone the formals I got from a friend. However, my SIL was/is a bigger size than me before my pregnancy, and the dresses I got from my friend just barely fit when she gave them to me. However, I might even look into wearing my wedding dress again, as I did get a style that I could wear again. I couldn't fathom my parents spending almost $200 for a dress that I could only wear once. A dye job, and/or an alteration or two and it wil be great. I'll spring for new shoes. However, there are always thrift stores. Those are fun.)
Just chill. There are worst things to freak about. If that was my worst problem in high school, I would have thanked God for a blessed life. Now, being an adult, I have worse problems. Yet, I know I'm blessed, and I am quite thankful.
Oh. I just heard a commercial for Monday's "Rachael Ray" show. They're profiling a school that got destroyed by a tornado. They're also giving the kids the prom they almost didn't have because of the tornado. See, it could be worse. While I still think prom is overhyped and overdone, a sense or "normal" for a school like that is worth it. I heard similar stories about kids and high schools that were effected (affected?) by the hurricanes of 2005.

You cant send it back and exchange it for the same price as another dress t(hat is of course if you didnt take the tags off already)? Thousands of prom dresses and someone had to have you JUST like yours. I would be pissed! Its the same color too? That must really suck. Well your going to have to step up your game for prom night get a sassy hair do and some really hott accessories/shoes!

OMG how mortifying! I would get a different dress. When I was in high school, I made my own prom dress, plus gowns for every other dance I went to, so I never had that problem. All my dresses were one of a kind but not everybody is a seamstess so good luck to you!

Sad, but forget it and be gracious about it. You probaby won't be in the same areas. Life is full of things like this.
How many people are really going to notice it, or remember it 2 months, 6 months, 6 years or more from now? It's probably a problem in your mind, more than anything.

She thinks you will observe whilst somebody else has her interest and additionally you will attempt to get her interest lower back after determining something i think. female logic is lots distinctive than guy logic. My female acquaintances consistently attempt to get a guy jealous and that they only don't comprehend, if he did no longer care approximately you in the previous then he could desire to no longer care approximately you once you're of much less pastime once you're with yet another dude lol

I would be jealous, but whatever. Proms should be memorable. You don't want to remember your prom as you running around, freaking out, and not having a good time, would you?

It depends on how much the dress was, and how much it means to you that she has it. If it were me I wouldn't be mad, I would make it my own. Add a really cute belt, get the hem shortened, add crystals to it, something to make it your own. Don't be mad, do something about it. ; ) Good luck!
If you run into her say " hey great minds think alike!!"
