It depends. Some games are pgrogrammed not to run or install on a system that does not meet the specific requirements. They won't even let you try. Other games will not stop you from running them, but they will likely run at lower performance.

You might want to make sure you shut off all not-necessary processes on your computer before running the game. Printer drivers, instant messengers, auto updaters, and other items can be stopped in the task manager before you start the game.

if it wants 512 minimum, then it will still play on 448, which is only slightly less really, but the game will probably perform slower than it would if you had 512 or more or RAM. you may get fed up with the game if it is slow, so it may not be worth it to install the game, but you'll have to see for yourself.

very slooooooooooowly

the game will slow down, if it works at all. your character could be killed before the game catches up with its self..

spend a few pounds instead of buying another game.
Buy your self some RAM upgrades. to replace the ones you have. buy two,512mb that willgive you 1GB. then your game will run a dream. the are fairly easy to replace.

Pay attention to which way up your old Ram strips are, when you take them out, (take a photo or make a sketch) So when you put your new Ram strips in, they won't fry when the power is turned on.

then you can happily play your game

It depends on how much is truly required. If you turn all the settings as low as possible and it runs then you're probably good...

I doubt it will do the game justice though
